Week 11



Drugs:




There are different types of drugs used to help the functions of the body to work normally.

Narcotics to relieve pain, which can be found in heroin and codeine used by medical professionals to help ease pain. Hypnotics which include tranquilisers to helps the body to sleep.
Stimulants, this increases mental and physical energy. Inebriantes can be found in alcohol, chloroform, solvents and other chemicals.
Many types of drugs can be used and may cause side effects, but all drugs are harmful if they are misused.
All of these drugs are legal and can be used effectively providing they are used in the correct manor, in contrast, they can become addicted due to the dependency and how frequent the body is use to the drugs.
Statistics shows that younger members of society have started to use prescription drugs more regular. In 2005, the figure had risen from 850,000 to 139,00 in the space of a year. This also showed that they were using these type of drugs were not much different to the illegal drug of marijuana where the statistic was 1,219,000.
Even though these types of drugs are legal, the misuse of using them can be detrimental just as much as using illegal drugs. Overall the misuse of drugs can be dangerous and unhealthy for the body.
